2011 Omicron Delta Annual Education Conference
The 2011 spring education conference was a great success! In Los Angeles, CA on May 14th, STTI members, Omicron Delta members and other nursing professionals came together to discuss the future of nursing.
The conference featured:

Transforming the Future of Nursing Session
Topics included:
*Describing the Initiative on the Future of Nursing (IFON) and its charge related to burning health care issues.
*Identifying the nurse issues in health care
*Defining the potential role of nurses in improving healthcare delivery and health outcomes
*Presenting the IFON recommendation and implementation plan
Carol Huston, MSN, MPA, DPA, FAAN, Director, School of Nursing, California State University, Chico, Past President STTI, Gloria McNeal, PhD, MSN, ACNS-BC, FAAN, Founding Dean, Mervyn M. Dymally School of Nursing, Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science, and Nancy Stuever, MNEd, EdD, Adjunct Faculty, Marian University, Associate Faculty, University of Phoenix, Consultant in Nursing Education presented in an afternoon panel session: "Moving Forward: Nurse Leaders Respond.”
Four contact hours were provided to conference attendees. Western Omicron Delta members were honored with red ribbons and were given a copy of "You Know You Are A Nurse When..."
It was a wonderful event and Omicron Delta would like to thank all of the volunteers who assisted the Planning Committee.
