Jo Hoffmeier New Inductee Scholarship
On November 3rd, 2011, Omicron Delta Chapter President-elect Angie Strawn presented Jo Hoffmeier with the recognition of the establishment of the Jo Hoffmeier New Inductee Scholarship Award at Jo's retirement reception held in Sacramento. This award will be granted each year to a new member of the STTI chapter who indicates a desire to attend an STTI Leadership Summit. This scholarship award will support the new inductee's attendance at this event by providing funding that will assist with registration fees, travel and hotel expenses.
The award presented to Jo reads. "Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing Omicron Delta Chapter honors Jo Hoffmeier in recognition of outstanding and faithful support of nursing by the establishment of the Jo Hoffmeier New Inductee Scholarship Award. (Signed) Pam Fuller, President, Angle Strawn, President-elect, November 3, 2011". Jo was deeply moved by this honor and expressed deep gratitude for what the Board had chosen to do in her name. Angie Strawn stated, "it was fitting to continue Jo's legacy of leadership by nurturing the leadership qualities of another in nursing".
The Jo Hoffmeier New Inductee Scholarship award is announced to all new members with their welcome packet and all are invited to apply. The award is announced in May of each year.
